Career opportunities

You will have responsibility for a portfolio of blocks in Southend and surrounding area, undertaking visits, organising maintenance, liaising with residents, freeholders and a range of clients and contractors. You will help to set the budgets for the blocks and so need to be comfortable with numbers and basic accounts, spreadsheets and various types of property management software. We do have an accounts team so this is not your sole responsibility (although it could be if you had the skills). Also, credit control for service charge payments.

We are looking for a personable and professional person that can communicate with a range of people. You will need to be organised, efficient and accurate. We can get very busy so you should enjoy a full day but we are a reasonable employer and you’ll be part of a team so you should be busy rather than overloaded.

Someone with block management experience would be ideal as it’s a complicated area to work in and a lot to learn, but if you think you have other relevant experience, we’d be happy to hear from you as well.

Undertaking quarterly visits of the property is a key part of the job, as well as popping out to check on things at properties (during the working day) so you MUST be able to drive. You can use a pool car for the visits if required, but please don’t apply if you don’t have a current valid UK driving licence.

You could be an apprecntice on a property, business administration or customer services course with the local college on day release. This is an entry level position, so this is likely to appeal to apprentices level 2 or 3.

In the office your main duties will be booking property appointments, dealing with inbound enquiries and general administration tasks. A member of staff will be appointed as your mentor and we will all help you learn as you go!

We aim for this to be a long-term role so you would progress to becoming a full property negotiator or administrator as time went on.
